Helping hand skills

October 26th, 2016

Reunert College is not only serious about academic training, it is also committed to providing additional skills to the students which may benefit them in the workplace.

Workplace skills are emphasised in the Life Skills classes and on a daily basis. Computer skills are also provided to assist learners in tertiary studies and within the workplace. Students sign contracts with the College when they enrol, which stipulate their rights and obligations. Infringements of these contracts lead to disciplinary measures and could even result in the termination of their contract. Students are expected to sign a daily attendance register and present medical certificates in case of absence.

Eight students (two from every class) were selected to attend a First Aid Course, which took place on 16 and 23 May 2016. To ensure that no time was taken away from formal classes, this training took place on Saturdays. All eight students received Level 1 First Aid Certification. Not only is it beneficial to our students to enter the workplace with these skills, but it is also good for the College to have First Aiders ready and able to help whenever needed.
