Reunert College participates in the 2016 CEO SleepOut

October 13th, 2016

Two Reunert College students participated in the 2016 CEO SleepOut held on 28 July 2016 on the Nelson Mandela Bridge in downtown Johannesburg. Reldean Williams, (Reunert bursar studying engineering at UJ) and Michael Mkhubiso (Class of 2016-learner at the Reunert College) was part of the Reunert Team-4-Change. The other two team members were Reunert chief financial offer, Nick Thomson and the chief executive of Reutech Solutions, Isaac Motale.

The Reunert team raised R170 550 for braving a bitterly cold night. This initiative is helping to create awareness around homelessness. The SleepOut Trust selected three beneficiaries; all working in the areas of education, which is aligned to Reunert's focus on education. These beneficiaries were carefully selected by the Trust because of their commitment to long-term educational solutions; upskilling early development crèche owners to educate numerous children in the future; working with community members to teach leadership skills to the youth; and engaging with young people about history, identity, integrity, respect and equality for all.
